The 8th June 2004 transit of Venus across the face of the Sun was recorded by three of the instruments in the Global Oscillation Network Group (GONG) network, at Learmonth (Australia), Udaipur (India), and El Teide (Spain). The GONG Web server saw over 100,000 hits per hour during the event. The transit lasted from 0520 to 1125 UT (in the middle of the night in North America).
